Kingsgate Insurance Center, Inc. was founded in 1990 as Ag Business Associates by Ed Smith to primarily serve the needs of those engaged in the agricultural field. Due to Ed's past experience in farming and farm management, Ag Business' entry into the market centered around that customer base. Built on strong midwestern values and work ethic, Ag Business grew offering farm, crop, and benefits insurance to its customers.

In 1995, the businees made the move from the Boston Centre in downtown Fort Dodge to its current location in the Kingsgate Center and took on the name Kingsgate Insurance Center, Inc. in relation to its new home. From there Kingsgate diversified its products and expanded from the oringinal combination of Ed and his wife, Denise Smith, to its current staff of eight.

Still remaining true to its roots Kingsgate now offers a wide range of products and services including personal and commercial property and casualty insurance, group and individual benefits and financial services and planning.
